Finally captured her smile!

I finally captured her beautiful smile on camera!  After many many attempts I finally was able to snap the photo fast enough!  Sophie is also laughing now, which is an absolute delight for us!  In other news, I started back to work and Sophie started day care...big step for Mom.  She seems to be doing pretty well, although she doesn't get a lot of sleep at day care yet.  Sophie will be turning 4 months old next week...oh how the time goes by!!!!!

Having Too Much Fun

I just couldn't resist sharing these photos. Sophie had such a great time playing on her play mat that she literally passed out on her play mat! Too cute!!!

2 months old and growing!!!

Well a lot has been going on in the last few weeks. Sophie had her 2 month visit to the pediatrician. She was 13lbs 10oz and 24 inches long...97th percentile! I guess no surprise there since height seems to run in the family. Sophie is also smiling and cooing now. Although I'm not quick enough with the camera to capture one of her smiles...but hopefully soon!

In other news, Sophie had her first plane trip. We flew to Sacramento to visit her Aunt Samantha and Uncle Kevin. Also, her Uncle Christopher, Aunt Lori, and Cousin's Owen and Amelia met us in Sacramento. We had a great time (see photos below). On the way back we stopped in Texas to visit with Dan's family (see more photos below). Sophie was great on the plane and I think she will be quite the little traveler! Sophie is almost 11 weeks old now...wow how the time goes by!

One Month Old!

Sophie is now ONE month old. Wow time has flown by!!! She is doing really well. She is eating great and consequently gaining weight and growing. She has already grown out of her newborn diapers and clothes. Her 0-3 month clothes are getting tighter...especially those footed sleepers (she has long legs!). And she no longer fits 0-3 month sized socks...yep she has some big feet! Other new developments...she is starting to recognize us and is interested in the funny faces her Daddy makes. Here are some cute pics of Sophie one month old!

Announcing Sophie Madeline Adcock

She is here! Sophie Madeline Adcock was born at 7:12 PM on July 14th. She was 8lbs 3oz and 21 1/4 inches long! And of course she is absolutely adorable and we are so so so in love with her!!! In fact we have been so consumed with her that it took me this long to post an update on her blog!!!

From this point forward I will definitely try to do better about keeping our blog updated with Sophie's happenings!!! Sophie is 3 weeks old this week and she is doing great. She is eating great and as of last week was already up to 9lbs 1oz! I still can't believe 3 weeks have flown by already...they really do grow up so fast!

It's Been Forever!!!

I know I know it has been forever since we last posted! Well a few updates...since the last time we posted, we have moved. We now live closer to my work, which has been amazing! I love my new 10 minute commute to work! In other news, we are just anxiously awaiting the arrival of Miss Sophie. It should be any day now!!!

So needless to say we have been a bit busy lately, which is why I've been slacking on the blog updates. But we are finally getting settled into the new place. In fact, I've posted some preview photos of Sophie's nursery! It is still in the works but this a sneak peek. I picked out the fabric and my Mom made the curtains and bedding. As you can see, she did an amazing job. Dan's parents bought us the adorable rocking chair for our baby shower gift...and it is super comfy! I already took a little nap in it! I still have some more decor details to get to...hanging some more items on the wall, etc....but we are getting there!

Ok...well it's dinner time....hopefully next time we post it will be about the arrival of Miss Sophie!

What's in a Name?

Well...let this be our official announcement of the name we have chosen for our baby girl. We have decided to name her Sophie Madeline! I have always liked the name Sophie and it just seems to fit her personality (or at least from what we can tell at this point!). Madeline is after Dan's mother. A big part of her being a girl is the fact that she inherited Madeline's X chromosome via Dan...so we thought it was pretty fitting to name her after her grandmother!

I'm just coming to the end of my 7th month now and we are getting more and more anxious to meet Sophie! But until then we have a few more things to tackle like moving and Dan has Grad school to finish! So I'm sure we'll keep ourselves busy until the time she decides its time!

Eastern Shore

Dan's parents came to visit this weekend and we had a great time with them. We took them to the Eastern Shore on Saturday for some sightseeing and crab eating! We also had some wonderful meals with them this weekend and were definitely spoiled to some great food. It was fun for them to see me and my baby bump. We are all getting excited for the arrival of our baby girl!

Hello everyone! Per several requests here are some photos of my baby bump! I am just over 25 weeks pregnant now. I've been feeling really good and I'm enjoying feeling her move and kick. Every time I look down at my belly I still can't believe there is a little baby girl growing inside me!!

Dan's Trip to Shanghai

My trip to Shanghai was a great experience. After 4 months of preparation every weekend, our project turned out fantastic. I am looking forward to seeing how the Special Education Consulting web portal looks when it gets up and running. We never saw the sun at all during the 8 days, but the city skyline was definitely cool. Our various meetings definitely exposed us to the ups and downs of Chinese business culture. School is all down hill from here...

The Beginning of Our Family Blog!

Hello everyone! Well we decided to enter the world of blogging! And what a better way to start off our family blog by sharing some photos of our baby girl! For those unfamiliar with the Adcock family tradition...I believe there has not been a girl born into the Adcock clan since the 1800s. So you can imagine our surprise when we learned on Friday that we were expecting a baby girl! We are very excited and Dan is still adjusting to the whole idea of a daughter!!! Haha!

Well we will be trying to keep our blog up to date with the latest happenings of our family. Stay tuned for updates!
